[Video] Davie McPhail’s Caddis Pupa Emerger

Davie McPhail demonstrates how to tie a caddis pupa emerger in this fly tying video tutorial. I’m always amazed by his patterns, they are really miniature works of art. I hope the trout appreciate how beautiful they are!

Davie’s attention to detail in his patterns is really quite amazing. Case in point, notice how Davie trims the Organza Ribbon used to rib the fly. He tapers the Organza fibers on the lower part of the abdomen to mimic the gills of the caddis fly. Pretty neat.

As Davie notes, you can vary the colors of this pattern to match the caddis in your local streams.
