This week’s Friday Night Fly Tying Video continues our mini-series on salmonfly patterns and features an adult salmonfly pattern that is so real it almost seems like cheating!

Realistic Salmonfly Imitation

The One-Winged Bandit salmonfly pattern is made to look so realistic with the use of Montana Fly Co. Furry Foam Bodies and Hareline Medallion Sheeting for the wing. The fish don’t stand a chance!

Salmonfly Material List

Hook: Daiichi 1750 Streamer Hook, Size 6
Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0, rust-brown
Body: Montana Fly Co. Furry Foam Bodies Brown/Organge, Size #6-8
Wing: Hareline Medallion Sheeting, Mottled Gray
Legs: Silly legs, Smoke/Blue/Black
Rib: Small round, Rust

If you are lucky enough to be where the Salmonflies are, tie up a few One-Winged Bandit’s and have at it!
