[Video] How to Tie an Olive Scud Nymph

Tim Cammisa provides a mini-dissertation on Scuds and demonstrates how to tie an Olive Scud Nymph in this fly tying video tutorial. If you fish limestone or ‘Spring’ creeks where scuds are prolific then you’ll want to have a good supply of these nymphs on hand.

Aside from showing the materials and methods for this scud, Tim also demonstrate how to burn monofilament eyes to give this pattern a realistic look which is a nice touch.

For more on scuds check out the MidCurrent article Tim mentions in the video, ‘All Things Scud: A Tactical Conversation with Mat Wagnerby’ by Dave Karczynski.

Enjoy!
